2 mins readNational Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kate Gyamfua, has disclosed crucial details about the party's choice for Dr. Mahamdu Bawumia's running mate in the upcoming 2024 elections.In an interview on Peace FM on November 22, 2023, Gyamfua stated that the party has already reached a decision on the potential running mate and has conveyed their choice to Vice President Bawumia.

She revealed that the chosen individual must be a male or female Member of Parliament (MP) from the Ashanti region.When questioned about the exclusivity of this requirement, Gyamfua asserted that the selected running mate is already aware of their candidacy. "The person knows who they are. If male, he knows himself; if female, the same way.

The flagbearer will appoint his own running mate, and he knows who we want so he will do justice accordingly. We have communicated to him who we want to be the running mate. The person should be an MP. And will they come from the Ashanti region," she said.
