Her call for critical thinking follows a promise from Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lower the country’s energy costs by transitioning from fuel-based to solar power. Bawumia claims this shift will alleviate the high electricity expenses facing Ghanaians.

In response to Bawumia's pledge, Otoo took to X (formerly Twitter) to describe the 2024 elections as a "test of sanity" and urged voters to carefully consider the promises being made. She emphasized the importance of making a wise choice at the polls.

The 2024 general elections will see competition between Dr. Bawumia of the NPP, former President John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, New Force Movement leader Nana Kwame Bediako, and Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen.
