Miracles Aboagye, a close aide of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate for 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has hailed the former Vice President as the most seasoned and actively engaged politician in the party.

In an interview with JoyNews on Tuesday, April 15, Aboagye affirmed Dr. Bawumia’s dominant role in politics, citing his extensive and consistent participation in national affairs.

“In our party today, the most experienced and active politician is Dr. Bawumia, no doubt about that,” Aboagye asserted.

He highlighted that Dr. Bawumia’s political journey spans over 16 years, with eight years as Vice President and another eight years as a running mate.

“He is the one who has been at the forefront of this country’s politics more than any other person. He’s been Vice President for eight years, he’s been a running mate for another eight years. That alone is sixteen years,” Aboagye explained.

Aboagye emphasized that party unity, under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, will be crucial for securing victory in the upcoming elections.

“Our only fast route to power will be to stay united, neatly and closely together, work together behind a leader that has articulated clear-cut alternative policies to issues that matter most to the people of this country, and that person is Dr. Bawumia,” he stressed.

He also pointed out that Dr. Bawumia offers not just experience but a clear vision and policies that align with the aspirations of Ghanaians.

“There is no doubt about it, data supports it, our political history even supports that,” Aboagye added.

These remarks come amid ongoing discussions within the NPP about the party's strategy and performance in the 2024 elections.
