A tragic accident occurred at Asankare Barrier, Ashanti Region, on September 23, 2023, involving a VIP Yutong bus and a trailer, resulting in two immediate deaths and multiple injuries, as reported by Adomonline.com.

The incident occurred when the VIP bus, registered as GE 6167-19, was traveling from Accra to Kumasi and collided head-on with the trailer en route to Accra.

The exact circumstances leading to the VIP bus crossing into the trailer's lane and causing the collision are still unclear.

The crash caused severe injuries, including fractured limbs, to several passengers on board.

The Motor, Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) and the local Fire Service from Juaso swiftly responded to the scene to provide assistance.

Injured individuals were promptly transported to the Juaso Government Hospital, while the bodies of the two deceased victims were taken to the same hospital's morgue.
