Attah-Cato, the Executive Director of AngloGold Ashanti Schools, confirmed that the schools would be closed on Monday, January 20, and Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The closure is intended to protect the safety of students, staff, parents, and other members of the school community, as stated in the announcement. “We remain hopeful that stability will return to Obuasi, allowing us to reopen on Wednesday, January 23, 2025,” the statement read.
