The newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kpando in the Volta Region, Killian Donkor, has appealed to traditional leaders and stakeholders in the municipality to guide and support him as he assumes his new role.
During a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Kpando, Togbe Dagadu IX, Mr. Donkor pledged to discharge his duties diligently and called for unity among the Chiefs, Elders, Assembly Members, and residents to help realise President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda in the municipality.
“Advise me, guide me, and offer your counsel as I assume this role,” he urged the Chiefs and Elders, adding that they should not hesitate to hold him accountable if he falls short of his responsibilities.
Mr. Donkor thanked President Mahama for the confidence reposed in him and expressed his appreciation to Togbe Dagadu IX and the traditional authorities for their warm reception and encouragement. He stressed the importance of collective effort, urging all stakeholders to work together for the development of Kpando for both present and future generations.
He also emphasized the need for unity, stating that progress would only be possible if divisions are set aside and efforts are focused on shared goals for the municipality.
Responding to the MCE’s remarks, Togbe Dagadu IX called on the people of Kpando, particularly the Assembly Members and traditional leaders, to lend their full support to Mr. Donkor as the representative of the President.

He encouraged the MCE to clearly communicate his vision and plans for the area, noting that this would help in monitoring progress and ensuring effective collaboration.
Togbe further advised Mr. Donkor to look beyond central government support and tap into the municipality’s vast human and natural resources, as well as external funding sources and grants, to drive development.
“When you find yourself in a challenging situation, ask yourself, ‘If the President were in this position, what would he do?’” Togbe Dagadu said, urging the MCE to emulate the President’s leadership qualities in his work.
The Paramount Chief assured Mr. Donkor that his palace would always be open for advice and support as they work together in the interest of Kpando.
