1 min readAbsa Bank Ghana Limited has announced that its Managing Director, Abena Osei-Poku, will be leaving the bank to pursue a career opportunity outside of Absa Group. She will step down on December 18, 2023, after more than 14 years within Absa Group, including five years as Managing Director of Absa Bank Ghana.The bank's Board is currently in the process of appointing an interim Managing Director and is also identifying a suitable successor.

The appointment of a new Managing Director will be announced once the process is completed, pending regulatory approval.Frances Adu-Mante, Chairperson of the Board, Absa Bank Ghana, praised Abena Osei-Poku's leadership, highlighting her role in successfully navigating the bank through significant changes and challenges, including the brand change to Absa and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abena Osei-Poku expressed her pride in her career with Absa Group and her confidence in the future success of Absa Bank Ghana. She acknowledged her decision to pursue a new opportunity outside of the group after considering her rewarding 14-year career with Absa Group. She extended her gratitude to the Absa Bank Ghana Board, colleagues, and customers for their support throughout her tenure.
