Evangelist Suro Nyame has expressed his views on Shatta Wale’s performance at the recent ‘Freedom Concert’ in Jamaica.
In a Facebook post, he highlighted the significance of Shatta Wale’s kneeling gesture, which was a tribute to Vybz Kartel.
As a strong supporter of the Shatta Movement, Evangelist Suro Nyame disagreed with critics who claimed Shatta Wale appeared overly starstruck and that his tribute to Kartel negatively impacted his performance.
The Evangelist believes the situation was not as the critics portrayed it.
He said it wasn’t just Shatta’s song choices that stood out to him, but it was his humbling gesture towards Vybz Kartel.
“Humility is key. Shatta Wale didn’t have to do that, but he did. He knelt, showing respect to Vybz Kartel, and that is a sign of the highest form of humility,” Nyame explained.
Evangelist Suro Nyame believes that Shatta Wale’s gesture serves as a reminder that true greatness comes from humility.
“When you humble yourself, like Shatta Wale did, God will elevate you. That’s how it works. No one gets far in life without acknowledging others and showing respect. It’s a spiritual principle,” he added.
He further emphasised, “Shatta Wale didn’t just perform; he connected with the crowd.”
