Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe with registration number GG 2–18, which was stolen from Sarpeiman in the Greater Accra Region.
The Eastern North Regional Police Command effected the arrests on April 30, following a series of coordinated operations across two regions.
Two of the suspects, identified as Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu, were apprehended at a hotel in Nkawkaw, while a third suspect, Dennis Debra, also known as Kapun, was picked up at his hideout in Pemenase in the Ashanti Region.
Initial police investigations revealed that the stolen vehicle was taken from a car wash facility located at Kuntunse Satellite on April 24, 2025. During questioning, Tawiah and Asiedu admitted to selling the vehicle to Debra for GH₵15,000, of which only GH₵2,000 had been paid at the time of their arrest.
Following this confession, officers tracked down Debra and arrested him. A search on his person uncovered the ignition key to the stolen SUV.
The suspects, along with the recovered vehicle, have been transferred to the Accra Police for further investigation.
