"A total of 22 children were affected and treated with 21 discharged for further observation and 1 child admitted overnight as a precautionary measure," he wrote.

Mr. George said he was prompted to act after learning of the "disturbing news item about the medical scare" at the two schools, and subsequently engaged both the Education Directorate and the Medical Director at the Prampram Polyclinic for clarity.

According to the MP, the vendor who sold the suspected 'contaminated' asana is assisting with ongoing investigations. Samples of the drink have been sent to the laboratory to determine its composition and identify what may have caused the reaction.

"I wish the children speedy recovery and thank the hospital for their speedy intervention," Mr. George added, expressing gratitude to the medical staff for their professionalism and swift response.
