Adukrom police have opened an investigation into the suspected killing of 15-year-old Richard Konnor, a junior high school student believed to have been attacked while trying to separate a fight over GHC10.
The disturbing incident took place in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.
According to reports, Richard had gone out around 9:30 p.m. to buy food but never made it back home.
He was allegedly ambushed in a poorly lit area, where he was struck on the head with a machete. The blow caused severe bleeding, and he collapsed at the scene.
He was later taken to the Okere Government Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Police have arrested three teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 in connection with the incident. Locals say the suspects are known for unruly conduct and suspected drug use.
The victim's body has been placed in the morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased is demanding a thorough investigation and swift action to ensure justice is served.
