2 mins read114 personnel have graduated as Assistant Physical Training Instructors after completing a rigorous 15-week course at the Ghana Armed Forces Physical Training School, located at Whistler barracks in Teshie.

During the graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 2, 2024, the students showcased their skills in a 5-kilometer steeplechase race and performed gymnastics displays, including head springs, splits, rolls, horse displays, individual performances, and various tricks.

Rear Admiral Eric Adu, the Guest of Honor and Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), commended the students for completing the course, which covered physical training theory, anatomy and physiology, gymnastics, and the rules and laws of major games and sports.

He emphasized the importance of continuing to improve their skills, as many of them would return for the advanced physical instructors' course.

Rear Admiral Adu advised the graduates to actively participate in unit sporting activities to enhance their knowledge and confidence in coaching and officiating. He also thanked the participants from other security services for their competitive spirit during the course.

The graduation ceremony featured awards for outstanding students. Trooper Eshun Samuel received the overall best student award, Sapper Owusu Clement Mensah received the best in gymnastics and first runner-up award, and SEMT (Senior Emergency Medical Technician) Okyere Samuel from the Ghana Ambulance Service received the Best Allied Student award.

The graduating class included personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, Police Service, Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division), Ghana Ambulance Service, and Ghana Ports and Harbor Authority.
