Veteran Ghanaian actor, Samuel Karikari, popularly known as Koo Ofori, has finally broken silence following reports of his arrest over an alleged $50k fraud that made rounds on the internet last week.

In a video circulating on social media, socialite and fashionista Nana Tornado is seen asking Koo Ofori to tell Ghanaians all about his arrest.

Koo Ofori said in a local parlance, "You know what...The one wearing the feather hat is envied by many. I will not say anything now to spark controversy. At the right time, the truth will prevail, and haters will be ashamed…while loved ones will have a reason to jubilate."

The veteran Ghanaian actor was arrested on May 9 by the Accra Central Police Command for allegedly defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.

Per reports, Koo Ofori received the sum from the California-based victim under the guise of a legitimate investment opportunity but failed to honour the agreement and went into hiding.

The victim, whose identity is unknown, reported the alleged fraud case to authorities after several unsuccessful attempts to recover the funds from the Bryt TV general manager.Watch Koo Ofori's response below:
