Ghanaian media personality Afua Asantewaa Aduonum's bid to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon has ended in disappointment, as her impressive feat of singing continuously for 126 hours and 52 minutes was officially deemed unsuccessful.Despite surpassing the current record holder's mark, her attempt fell short, causing a stir in the country.
Upon scrutiny of the Guinness World Record confirmation statement, it was revealed that Afua was already aware of the results by the beginning of February. The statement highlighted that the evidence check had commenced before she requested priority service, leading to a refund of her payment.Despite this knowledge, Afua continued her marathon, keeping the outcome to herself until the official announcement.
Unofficially, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum sang for an additional 21 hours beyond the current record, set at 105 hours by India's Sunil Waghmare in 2012.Despite her extraordinary effort and dedication, her bid to claim the title ended in an unfortunate turn of events. The country now awaits Afua's response and potential future record attempts. However, she revealed a second attempt at breaking the singathon record in a Facebook post.
