2 mins read2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) Artiste of the Year winner, King Promise, has played down public excitement surrounding congratulatory message he has received from dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

In a post shared on X on May 12, Stonebwoy congratulated the “Paris” hitmaker, welcoming him to what he described as that “the league of winners."

Speaking in an interview, King Promise said he had been informed by the message ut did not consider it newsworthy.

“I have been told about his congratulatory message. I don’t think it’s a big deal. I’ve responded to a few, but I haven’t been on X today. They were telling me about it, and I told them to cool down, it’s not a big deal,” he said.

The "Terminator" hitmaker added that while he acknowlegdges the message, he prefers not to react to it.

“I’ve received the congrats, but I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t think it’s anything worth speaking about,” he added.

The Artiste of the Year race at this year’s TGMAs was hotly contested, with the spotlight mainly on Stonebwoy, King Promise, King Paluta, and Kweku Smoke.

Stonebwoy, who was widely considered a top contender for the coveted Artiste of the Year title, lost the award to King Promise.
