Media personality, Nana Romeo has stated that replacing Abeiku Santa at Okay FM is a dream come true.
Abeiku Santana used to be the host of Ekwanso Dwodwo on Okay FM and also the programmes manager, until President Mahama appointed him Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
Nana Romeo was the host of Accra FM’s midmorning show and entertainment program.
He took to Instagram on May 26, 2025, to announce that he would replace Abeiku Santana at Okay Fm, which has always been his dream for the past decade.
"In 2016 Abeiku Santana showed interest in politics. And since then I have wanted to work at OKAY FM. Abeiku Santana has always been my role model. I loved him from day one,"
"Finally after almost 10 years at Accra FM, I am moving to a new family and this is a family that has always been in my heart. I have always loved to be with Despite Media, precisely with OKAY FM," Romeo said."I am going to play the Drive. Abeiku has Despite media at heart but you know it will get to a time when he will leave the seat for someone to take over. He is a big personality in the media space. I know I am going to fill his space and we all know that is a large space for me to fill," he added.
He further noted that Abeiku Santana is aware of the information, and has given him his blessings.
"He is aware. How can this go on without Abeiku's knowledge? Even if I have not told him, he knows about it. It is an open secret," he added.
Nana Romeo announced the end of his working relationship with the Accra-based radio station in an Instagram post on May 26, 2025.
He expressed his gratitude to the owner of Class Media Group (CMG), Alhaji Seidu Agongo, and former General Manager Nana Appeanti for believing in his talent and further thanked his colleagues.
Taking to Instagram, he said: “As I sit down to write this, it’s hard to believe that the time has come for me to say goodbye to CMG – ACCRA FM 100.5. After close to 10 years of togetherness, the moment has arrived for me to take the next step in my journey, and I want to take a moment to thank and appreciate the owner of CMG, Alhaji Seidu Agongo, to Nana Appeanti, the then General Manager, who saw and believed in my talent, to all my colleagues, both past and present, to my cherished listeners, and all my loved ones. Words aren’t enough to express how I’m feeling right now. It’s been beautiful. FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT AS I ANNOUNCE MY NEXT HOME SOON. THANK YOU"
