Veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, is reaching out to the public for their prayers as he battles a disease that poses the risk of amputation of one of his legs. In a video posted on his Instagram page, the seasoned actor revealed that he has been hospitalized for several weeks. He mentioned that doctors have warned him about the possibility of losing a leg if he does not follow the prescribed treatment.

In a viral video, Mr Ibu said, “While I am hoping for prayers and assistance, as I speak to you I am still lying down in the hospital. The medical director of this hospital said that in case his new idea does not work, the next idea is to cut off my leg. Just see me, if they cut off my leg where would I go? Pray for me, I don’t want my leg to be cut off, thank you so much, God, bless you.” Despite his health struggles, Mr.

Ibu celebrated his 62nd birthday in the hospital. A video on his Instagram account captured him in a hospital gown, surrounded by his wife, children, and close family members as they marked the occasion with a birthday cake. Jasmine Okafor in a post on Instagram said: “Happy birthday Daddy @realmribu! It breaks my heart that we are celebrating you today from the Hospital bed.
