Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has officially confirmed the latest separation of the P-Square music duo. In a recent interview with City FM in Lagos, he cited creative differences and personal issues as the primary reasons for the breakup.
Rudeboy addressed and refuted accusations that he undermined his brother Peter’s contributions to the group, clarifying that he was misrepresented when allegedly stating that he was the lead singer while Peter was merely the dancer. According to Rudeboy, Peter had expressed his disinterest in continuing with the group but preferred to keep this decision private.
Rudeboy emphasized that their intentions for reuniting were focused on achieving success with new hit albums. Despite their efforts to avoid past mistakes and share creative responsibilities equally, the collaboration did not succeed. Rudeboy noted that Peter had explicitly conveyed his desire to leave the group, and while Rudeboy had hoped for a public announcement, Peter’s preference was to remain discreet. As Rudeboy moves forward with his solo career, he felt it was important to clarify the situation to avoid being unfairly labeled.
