Liam Payne, the 31-year-old former member of One Direction, has tragically passed away in Buenos Aires, Argentina, following a fall from the third floor of a hotel, according to police reports.Authorities stated that they found Payne's body after responding to an emergency call in the affluent neighbourhood of Palermo.

Payne gained worldwide recognition as part of the beloved boy band formed on the X Factor in 2010, alongside fellow members Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.Just weeks prior, he had attended a concert in Argentina featuring his former bandmate Niall Horan.

Police in Buenos Aires reported that officers were initially dispatched to the hotel following complaints about an "aggressive man" who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.Upon their arrival, authorities learnt that a loud noise had been heard in an interior courtyard. Shortly thereafter, they found the body. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.

Alberto Crescenti, the director of emergency medical services, informed local media that Payne had sustained "serious injuries" and confirmed that an autopsy will be performed.Crescenti refrained from commenting on the specifics surrounding Payne's fall from the balcony.The UK Foreign Office confirmed it was in touch with authorities in Argentina "regarding reporters of the death of a British man". No further details were given.
