The Nigerian Police has arrested singer Ice Prince for allegedly assaulting and abducting a police officer who had detained him.

Ice Prince, born Henry Zamani, was picked up on Friday at 3pm.

During the period, he was driving without car licence plates, the Lagos Police Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said.

“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested," Mr Hundeyin said.

According to the Police, Ice Prince will be arraigned today.

There has been no comment from the musician or his team.
