Ghanaian reggae and dancehall musician Jah Lead has taken back a comment he made some weeks ago, where he said he would beat up music producer JMJ.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Jah Lead said he made the angry statement because he was going through a lot personally — including the death of a loved one and problems in his marriage.

1

When he was asked if he still meant what he said about attacking JMJ, Jah Lead admitted he regretted saying it and made things clear.

2

“Honestly, JM is my brother. I love him. I would never assault him, to be honest. I never do that. I think emotions had gotten intense… I retract that statement I made. I’ll never assault him. I appreciate him for whatever we have got into. We can both continue with our lives,” he said.

3

Back on March 17, 2025, Jah Lead had publicly threatened to beat up JMJ, saying the producer was keeping money from their song Lonely without sharing it fairly.

4

At the time, Jah Lead said: “He should dare not think he’s older than me, coz he’s my age mate. That’s why I’ll talk to him like my age mate. I told him when the time comes I’ll meet him on the street, I’ll beat him mercilessly. I want people to talk about it coz I’ll face him like a man, I’ll beat him.”

5

Their fight started because of a misunderstanding over the song they both worked on for JMJ’s Riddim of the Gods project. Jah Lead accused JMJ of removing the song from Audiomack even though it was doing better on his own page. He also claimed JMJ sent the song to Boomplay and got paid without telling him.

6

Now that Jah Lead has apologized and taken back his words, it seems like the beef between the two might be coming to an end.
