Koo Fori granted GHS320k bail over alleged $50k fraud

Popular Ghanaian actor , Samuel Seth Kwabena Keyere Karkari, popularly known as Koo Fori, known for his role in the TV series Efiewura, has been granted bail of GHS320,000 with three sureties after being chanrged with defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.

The Efiewura TV series actor was arrested by police in Accra on Friday, May 9, and appeared before the Dansoman Circuit Court on Monday May 12.

According to the police, Koo Fori allegedly took money from a Ghanaian based in Califonia, claiming he would invest if it for the person.

But after receieving the moneym he reportedly failed to keep hijs part of the deal and went into hiding.

The victim tried several times to get the money back but was unsuccessful, so they filed filed a complaint with the police.

Investigations showed that Koo Fori didn't return the money and even ignored a court order to appear in April. This led the court to iassue a warrant for his arrest.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge of defrauding under false pretences.

The case, however is expected to continue as investigations proceed.
