Ghanaian artist Juliana Gharbin has set out to break a Guinness World Record by crafting the world’s largest beaded sculpture—a beaded bag.

To achieve this, she designed and produced a massive beaded bag, aiming to secure a spot in the Guinness World Records while promoting Ghanaian artistry on an international platform.

Following the official guidelines for the record attempt, she enlisted the support of eight skilled beaders: Akosua Adutwumwaa Amoah (Dr.), Babra Ajok, Addo Tijani, Sandrine Kouassi, Lordia Konadu Appiah, Setor Akua Modzro, Bridget Esi Quansah, and Fauzia Alhassan.

With their combined effort, they utilized 216 packs of beads to construct what is now recognized as the world’s largest beaded bag. The final creation, woven with beads and twines, measures 2 meters in width, 1.4 meters in height, and extends 2.7 meters in length.

Before beginning the actual beading, they required the expertise of a map surveyor to outline the dimensions, a step that was documented and included in their submission.

The entire project took Juliana and her team 13 days to complete, spanning from March 1 to March 13, 2025.

The beading process for this remarkable feat was carried out at Ocean Green Beach Villas, Prampram.

Juliana officially submitted her application for the record attempt on September 18, 2023, and received approval on November 30, 2023.

All necessary footage and supporting documents of the beaded bag will be sent to the Guinness World Records for final validation..
