Ewurama Dua Anto, the widow of renowned gospel artist KODA, paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband during his burial service, which took place on September 20. KODA, who passed away in April at the age of 45, was laid to rest in a ceremony held at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in Spintex.
The event was attended by many fellow gospel musicians, including Joe Mettle, Nacee, Elder Mireku, Sonnie Badu, and Diana Hamilton, who gathered to honor his memory.
In her emotional tribute, Ewurama shared cherished memories of their life together, highlighting KODA’s deep love and commitment to their family.
She expressed her gratitude, saying, “I will always bless the day I met you. We shared happy and sad moments together which led to a long-lasting bond between us that words cannot express.“You were the best of husbands any wife could pray for and the best of father any child could pray for. You were a good man sweety, I am forever grateful to God that I found you,” she said.She praised him as an exceptional husband and father, stating, “As believers, we rejoice in the fact that you are still alive in heaven. Praise be to Jesus who died to give us eternal life knowing that one day we will all live again. Till we meet again sweety, we will miss you.”
“But I am consoled that one day we shall see that walk, talk and smile of yours again. Rest in perfect peace, my love,” Ewurama added.
I am forever thankful to God for bringing you into my life.”
Ewurama also reflected on KODA's unwavering faith and dedication to God, expressing hope that his legacy would inspire others to embrace Christianity.
“As believers, we take comfort in knowing you are in heaven. Praise be to Jesus for the gift of eternal life,” she said.
She concluded with a heartfelt promise, “Until we meet again, my love, your spirit will always be with us. Rest peacefully, my darling.”
Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, known as KODA, leaves behind a legacy of influential gospel music, including hits such as “Nsempii,” “Nkwa Abodoo,” “Yapai,” and “Adorso.”
He was also celebrated for his work as a music producer, having collaborated with artists like the late Danny Nettey, Ps. Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, and Eugene Zuta.
