Ghanaian Afrobeats star Camidoh recently shared the story behind his latest song "NLF" (Nothing Lasts Forever), inspired by a personal heartbreak.
In an interview on Hitz FM on June 18, 2024, he reflected on his past relationship, acknowledging that he had been overly confident and convinced it would last indefinitely.
"Basically, we fell out, but I held onto the idea that it would last forever. I became too sure of myself. I was living in a fantasy world," he admitted.
The 'Sugarcane' singer explained that this experience was a wake-up call, teaching him that relationships can end for various reasons and that sometimes separation is unavoidable.
"I felt like God gave me a reality check. I had to accept that things might not work out. If we don't break up due to a misunderstanding, we could still end up apart at some point. When you understand the inevitability of death, you realize that even though I'm with this person, anything can happen, and one of us may lose the other," he reflected.
Camidoh shared that this realization has better prepared him for future relationships. "If I marry someone in the future and it doesn't work out, I won't be as devastated as I was," he concluded.
