1 min readCEO of the Angel Group of Companies, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, has opened up about his journey from a carpenter to a successful businessman, revealing the struggles he endured in his early days.

Speaking about his humble beginnings, he shared that his entrepreneurial journey started in the 1990s with the production of Angel Cream.

"I started in the '90s with Angel Cream. I was actually a carpenter when I started. I was into furniture making, room dividers, wardrobes, and all kinds of furniture. I was into that," he recalled.

With limited resources, Dr. Oteng took to the streets of Kumasi, selling his product from market to market, seizing every opportunity to push his business forward.

"There was no house in Kumasi that I didn’t enter. It got to a point that people started chasing me out of their houses. But I kept on selling, day and night," he said.

Despite the challenges, including being turned away from homes, he remained determined, eventually growing his business into one of Ghana’s most recognizable brands.

Today, Dr. Oteng’s Angel Group of Companies has expanded into multiple industries, including media, beverages, and pharmaceuticals. His story serves as an inspiration to young entrepreneurs, proving that persistence and hard work can turn small beginnings into great success.
