The netizen in question claimed in a circulating video that Empress Gifty was caught cheating with a man identified as Kofi Owusu, alleging that the incident led to a physical altercation between the couple and was subsequently reported to the Tesano Police Station.

"Yesterday, Hopeson Adorye caught Empress Gifty having an extramarital affair with an individual named Kofi Owusu on their matrimonial bed... When Hopeson caught them, he slapped Gifty, and now the issue is before the Tesano Police," the unidentified individual claimed.

Reacting strongly to the claims in an Instagram video on April 14, 2025, the politician described the assertions as completely false, warning the individual behind the video to prepare for legal consequences.
3
"You people can't bring me down. You think you can hide on the internet and misbehave? Even the people you're fighting for are pleading with me to return to the party," he said.

Hopeson, visibly angry, delivered a sharp and chilling message to the content creator: “I’m warning you, call your mother and tell her you will die very soon. How can you fabricate such harmful lies about a fellow woman and seek to destroy her hard-earned reputation? Don’t you know she has children, and she’s a brand ambassador for multiple products? That’s her livelihood.”
5
He emphasized that the falsehoods not only affected his family’s image but also posed a threat to Empress Gifty’s professional standing and the wellbeing of their children.
6
Adorye added that he had taken steps to trace the individual behind the allegations and intended to take legal action.
7
“I just came from the Immigration Service, and I have all your details. Don’t you know I can sue you in the country where you live? Don’t joke with me,” he said.
8
He further urged the public to be wary of social media content that lacks credibility, warning that reputations and lives could be destroyed by falsehoods spread online.
