Renowned Nigerian vocalist, David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has emphatically stated that he intends to step away from his music career before it loses its downturn.
Davido candidly expressed this sentiment in a video shared on Instagram by entertainment blogger Tunde Ednut.
In the video, he articulated that his greatest apprehension in life revolves around the prospect of his music journey hitting a downward trajectory.
The artist behind hits like 'Unavailable' elucidated that he harbors genuine concern about the inevitable phase in his career when the fervor of his performances begins to wane, and the audience's excitement diminishes.
Davido acknowledged that every artist encounters a stage in their professional journey when the exuberant response from the audience gradually fades away.
However, he is resolute in his determination to not reach that juncture in his career. He even playfully jests with his friends about retiring from music before his popularity wanes.
In his own words: "The only thing I truly fear is that moment, perhaps… when I step onto the stage and people no longer scream, they no longer go crazy. It's bound to happen at some point in my career, as it happens to everyone. That's what truly concerns me, reaching that point."
"I want to avoid ever getting there. I often jest with my friends that I'll retire before my appeal diminishes."
