His passing was announced on February 6, 2025, in a heartfelt Instagram post by actress and politician Hilda Dokubo.

Expressing her sorrow, she wrote, “Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord. Ikoli eh dein na mu. There can’t be a shortage of angels in heaven that the few here are called home like this na! This one is heavy on Uniport, Rivers State, and Nollywood.”

Beyond his contributions to Nollywood, Irisoanga was a respected senior lecturer in the Theatre Arts department at the University of Port Harcourt, where he mentored and shaped aspiring actors and creatives.
