Speaking to GhanaWeb's Isaac Dadzie at the launch of the 'Black Star Experience' on May 1, 2025, Dawuni stated that true recognition only comes when music is grounded in quality and authenticity. He noted that accolades are meaningful only when they are earned through genuine artistic merit.

“I believe that every artiste should focus on doing excellent work. Awards shouldn’t be the main goal, but if they come because of true excellence, then they are deserved,” he said.

Dawuni stressed that his personal mission as an artiste goes beyond collecting trophies. He aims for his music to resonate across the world, not just within Ghana or Africa.

“I don’t think awards should define us. For me, I want my music to impact people globally, not only on the continent,” he said.

He added that Ghana remains a trendsetter in music and creativity, regardless of international recognition.

“Ghana is a leader and innovator. We don't need awards to prove our worth,” Dawuni said, urging musicians to remain grounded in their vision and stay true to their craft.
