The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced a four-day period of prayer and fasting following the recent tragic losses in Nollywood. In a statement released by the guild's president Emeka Rollas, it was revealed that popular cleric Pastor Jerry Eze would lead the prayers.
The decision to hold the prayer and fasting period was welcomed by Nollywood stars, who applauded the guild for taking this spiritual initiative.According to a flyer shared by Rollas on Monday, April 22, Pastor Jerry Eze, the founder of Streams of Joy International Church, will lead the spiritual exercise.
Rollas emphasised the importance of prayers in averting further losses in Nollywood, citing recent incidents such as the tragic boat mishap and the passing of actors Mr Ibu and Amaechi Muonagor due to illnesses. The prayer and fasting period is scheduled to commence from May 2 to May 5.
"In view of the recent passing of our two veteran members and the devastating tragic boat mishap that claimed the lives of five active practitioners including John Paul Odonwodo, aka, Jnr Pope in Asaba, we have decided to seek divine intervention in fasting and prayers to avert similar occurrences in the future," Rollas stated.
