Renowned Reggae Dancehall artist Stonebwoy is rallying significant support for the Black Stars as they prepare for a pivotal final group match against Mozambique in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Following the frustration of a 2-2 draw against Egypt, where Ghana twice relinquished the lead, the stakes have risen for Monday's crucial must-win encounter.
Exuding unshakable confidence in the team's abilities, Stonebwoy affirmed that Ghana demonstrated superiority in the game against Egypt and is well-positioned to secure a convincing qualification.
He urged the nation to embrace a fighting spirit, stating, "God bless Ghana. Let's put on the fighting spirit, Ghana. That's all. We can overqualify, I'm telling you. What did Egypt play today? Their goals were not really good goals. We just need to be wise."
In Thursday's match, Ghana gained an early advantage with Mohammed Kudus' goal in the 45th minute.
However, a defensive lapse allowed Egypt to level the score. Despite Kudus reclaiming the lead, another defensive error, this time from substitute Osman Bukari, led to Egypt equalizing once again.
Facing a must-win scenario against Mozambique on Monday to advance to the next round, Stonebwoy's rallying call aims to boost the team's morale and inspire the nation. He encourages them to channel their fighting spirit for a decisive victory.
