Former Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Frank Adu-Poku has denied taking any money from ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The investigative journalist in a video dubbed: WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMAN was heard to have confessed to a state prosecutor of receiving $100,000 bribe.

Anas also in the same video was heard to have alleged that, he gave the former CID boss, COP Adu-Poku $7500 to release a criminal suspect.

But in a quick rebuttal on Adom FM morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, COP Adu-Poku expressed shock at the allegation.

“I have never received any money from Anas. I have worked as a police officer for over 20 years and I have my reputation intact but Anas has used five seconds to destroy it” he opined.

COP Adu-Poku is convinced Anas will come out to exonerate him of the allegation leveled against him.

“I’m sure by the end of the day Anas will come out to clear me. I’m innocent” he stressed.
