A bridge collapsed in the Finnish city of Espoo, injuring about 27 persons, several of them were children.
Many of the injured today were children, according to the Helsinki Hospital Authority (HUS).
According to local authorities, they were eighth-grade pupils from Helsinki’s Kalasatama elementary school.
When the bridge gave way, several persons fell a short distance, according to the police.
A temporary pedestrian bridge in Epsoo, about 12 miles from the capital in the Uusimma region, collapsed at around 9:30am, according to the country’s national broadcaster, the Finnish Broadcasting Company known locally as Yle.

The bridge leads to the Ainoa shopping centre.
The Länsi-Uusimaa rescue service said scaffolding collapsed near the construction site.
Emergency services, paramedics and police officers are at the scene.
Six patients have been taken to Siltasairaila, six to Jorvi Hospital, three to Peijas Hospital and nine to Uuti Children’s Hospital, HUS added.
