Erling Haaland, the rising star for Manchester City, kept up his remarkable Premier League form on Wednesday, May 24, when his team competed against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Pep Guardiola felt the necessity to choose a quality lineup for the EPL cracker even though the game had little relevance for City.

The match, according to The Guardian, concluded in a 1-1 draw with goals from Phil Foden and Julio Enciso for each team.

Haaland was also on target for the champions in what should have been the winner but saw his goal chalked off after a VAR review.

Foden opened the scoring for the visitors in the 25th minute of the clash before Enciso restored parity in the 38th minute with what would potentially be a goal-of-the-season contender.

Haaland equals Thierry Henry’s record

Despite Haaland’s goal being ruled out, it was not all gloom and doom for the Norwegian star, whose contribution in the match saw him equal a record held by Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

The former Borussia Dortmund ace was responsible for City’s opener, scored by Foden as he set up the Englishman for the goal.

According to Squawka, this was Haaland’s 44th goal involvement in the Premier League, having previously scored 36 goals and bagged eight assists.

The tally is enough for him to match Henry’s, with the former Arsenal star setting the record during the 2002/03 campaign.

At the time, the Frenchman scored 24 goals and bagged an incredible 20 assists.

Haaland has an opportunity to break that record and set his own, with City still yet to play two matches.

Haaland joins fans in dance

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Haaland was once again the center of attention during Man City’s Premier League trophy presentation.

The Norwegian was involved in a heartwarming moment with City fans, leaving an on-pitch interview to join supporters in dance.

Sky Sports had managed to get hold of the striker for an interview before he rushed away to celebrate with jubilant home supporters.
